Andrea Caisutti
We know the Artist:
Mechanical designer by day, in the evening and in his free time, he wears the clothes of a sculptor.
The personal and professional life of Andrea Caisutti (born in Udine in 1967, home and atelier in nearby Percoto) takes place on the edge of the balance between technology and art, two sides that coexist in a constant dialogue in the sculptural gesture.
He started sculpting small statues for the crib at the age of 10. An innate and self-taught artistic talent: the only training acquired in this particular sector were the free courses attended at the art school of Ortisei, in the province of Bolzano, and the teachings of a master sculptor in his workshop in Udine.
Then the start of a career parallel to the real professional one, with the participation in exhibitions, sculpture symposiums and art reviews.

Proposal for the Predaia Symposium 2023:
The sculpture proposed by Andrea is called “Mannequin”.
The mannequin is an object without a soul, which however can give life and emotions.
His blank gaze closed in a cube can be a cry for help.
It’s up to us to bring it back to life.
