Paolo Modenese
We know the Artist:
Born in 1965 in Noventa Vicentina, the youngest of 3 children, all with natural artistic and musical talents.
The self-taught artistic career begins as a painter, with stylized drawings with fast strokes and colored bases, experimenting with different techniques and color combinations and participating in various local group exhibitions.
In 1986 he then participated in a sculpture course, held at a well-known local company, where he learned the basics of sculpture and the various techniques.
From the pantograph’s error corrector for work, carving the stone by hand, he continued to paint and sculpt in his personal artistic field, in the small home workshop.
He has participated in various exhibitions with the Micro Macro cultural association for about 12 years, in group exhibitions in the province and in the various regions of Italy with the Patita Pavana association. Since 2011 he has participated in various fairs and markets, where he was able to demonstrate sculptures and workshops, with a dynamic relationship with the public, raising awareness of sculpture even in an era where the 3D printer is almost at home.
Realization for the 2021 Symposium of Predaia:
The sculpture proposed by Paolo has the title “The passage of time” (orig. “Lo scorrere del tempo”).
The exit from the coming and going between wakefulness and sleep, awakening us eternally. By rediscovering the divine nature of everything, including us.
The upper part of the head is the divine part (hole above) and the lower part (hole below) is human nature.
In the eternal moving and interacting between the two natures (the hole at the top and the hole at the bottom form an 8 symbol of infinity) they alternate infinitely in the eternal movement of the alternation between the seasons, between day and night , between the sun and the clouds, between the wind and the fog, birth and death, between wakefulness and sleep, time passes unperturbed (facial expression).
