Giovanni Capelletti
We know the Artist:
He was born in Bergamo in 1962 and, from a young age, he devoted himself to working with wood; he knows the textures, colors and scents of the various essences.
After his artistic studies at the “Andrea Fantoni” art institute in Bergamo and at the institute of Ortisei, where he deepened the techniques of wooden sculpture, he embarked on a career that quickly led him to abstract sculpture, which he himself defines “the only possible artistic form”.
His sculptures take shape, work in progress is created, while maintaining the characterizing nature of wood and iron, materials that he prefers and which, with mastery and taste in design, he assembles and sculpts, creating works for furniture.
Over the years, he has participated in several symposia and exhibitions, enjoying various successes.
Realization for the Symposium of Predaia 2020:
The sculpture created by Giovanni has the title “Unpredictable forms”
The work consists of a trunk divided into 2 parts (in memory of the Vaia storm), which after being worked, are joined with metal pieces to form a sculpture with a very abstract and uncontrollable shape.
The impression that the work must give is that Nature always knows how to transform everything.
This is precisely “the nature I would like”, exactly as it is: UNPREDICTABLE.
